Known problems for driver release 2.7
- Screen switching with some speed test programs causes some weird screen
artifacts. This does not occur when you switch screens under normal
circumstances.
- The new scrolling acceleration seems to cause problems on some systems.
If you experience similar problems and don't feel comfortable with that,
go back to an older driver version.
- OS3 Doublebuffer style support does not work properly for small resolutions
yet. There is still some flickering when using it with e.g. a 320x200.
Higher resolutions give better results.
- Quake experimental double/triple buffer routines don't work with CVisionPPC.
This problem is being worked on.
- The 24bit packed pixel and the 32bit 24bit mode use different screen mode
identifiers. This is due to technical reasons and won't change in the
future. So if you change the PACKED24 tooltype in the driver, you have to
change the screenmodes that use a 24bit mode, too.
- The card does not support video streams like CVision3D or PicassoIV (using
P96's cgxvideo.library emulation) does. This feature is simply not supported
in hardware. There will probably be some kind of emulation in the future
using the 3D interface but this is not yet done.
- The card/driver does not support dragabble screens. There is a note in the
CVPPC manual but some people seem to have overlooked it ......
- The mouse crsr jumps if you move the mouse to the leftmost or topmost
row/line. This will be fixed in a future release.
- Unlike otherwise noticed, the hardware does not have any internal hardware
mpg acceleration.
Please use the bugreport form at http://www.vgr.com/bugform.html to report any
bugs related to the CVisionPPC driver.
